Panic gripped Shimla High Court after bomb threat
Panic gripped the Himachal Pradesh High Court in Shimla on Monday morning after authorities received a warning about a possible human suicide bomber inside the court premises.
Acting swiftly, the Shimla Police and security forces evacuated the building, ensuring that judges, lawyers, court staff, and the public were moved to safety.
Shimla Superintendent of Police confirmed that the alert came in early in the day. “We were informed about the threat in the morning. Immediately, security personnel, including DIG Southern Range Anjum Aara and other senior officials, arrived at the scene. Bomb squads and quick response teams were also deployed,” he said.
A detailed search of the court complex followed, lasting nearly four hours. Thankfully, no explosives or suspicious objects were found.
By late afternoon, the area was declared safe, and normalcy returned. While the threat turned out to be a false alarm, the quick response by authorities helped avert any potential danger and reassured the public.
