Tulip Garden Palampur is becoming center of attraction for people

After the tea city, Palampur identity is being made from Tulip Garden. IHBT’s tulip garden is becoming center of attraction for people.

Palampur situated in the foothills of Dhauladhar has also made its identity in the world by the name of Tea City. While the snow-capped mountains from the plains here give one the feel of Switzerland, there is immense possibilities of tourism to give a boost to the state’s economy. But for the last few years, Palampur is becoming the center of attraction for one more reason and that is the very beautiful Tulip Garden of IHBT Palampur.

IHBT Palampur has prepared the country’s second Tulip Garden. This garden in Palampur has now been opened for the common people as well, so that people can enjoy its beauty.

The unique thing about this garden is that the tulip plants planted here are indigenous and have been prepared in Lahul-Spiti, Himachal. After the success of the Tulip Garden in Palampur, now the institute is expanding to other places in the state.

Earlier, there was only one Tulip Garden in the country in Srinagar, which people from all over the country used to visit. The tulip plant produced from this garden is exported to Europe.

Tulip plants are imported from Netherlands, Holland and Afghanistan. CSIR IHBT has prepared the same tulip plants to encourage the farmers of Lahaul-Spiti and Ladakh. Tulip grows more in hilly areas. The flowers planted in the garden add beauty to the garden. Dr. Sanjay Kumar, former director of CSIR IHBT, says that the main objective of the institute is to encourage the farmers of the state. With the formation of Tulip Garden, the export of Tulip plants from India will increase. There will be no need to import saplings to India. The garden is open for all without any entry fee.
