Our People Cannot Be Left to Fate: Vinay Kumar Urges Swift Action for Indians in Gulf

State Congress President Vinay Kumar launched a sharp critique of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stressing that the safety of Indian citizens caught in the escalating Israel-Iran conflict must be the government’s top priority. He pointed out that millions of Indians working in Gulf countries—who contribute billions to India’s economy—now face grave uncertainty, with little visible action from the Centre.

Kumar said these expatriates, including over 50,000 from Himachal Pradesh, are the backbone of India’s economy. Yet, in this crisis, they are left “at the mercy of God.” Families back home, he added, are spending sleepless nights praying for their loved ones’ safe return.

He demanded that the government immediately place all Indian embassies on high alert, issuing clear instructions to provide citizens with shelter, food, medical care, and emergency assistance. “This is not the time for photo-ops or rhetoric,” Kumar declared, “but for strong, decisive action.”

Calling out what he described as the Modi government’s lack of preparedness, Kumar urged the launch of a massive rescue operation using special aircraft and safe corridors. He insisted that embassies must operate round-the-clock with backup teams, helplines, and relief centres, while data on citizens from each state should be collected and shared with families.

He warned that any delay or negligence in protecting Indians abroad would be unacceptable, emphasizing that the government’s responsibility is not optional—it is urgent and absolute.
