Organizing two days awareness workshop for reorganization of buildings in Kinnaur
The District Disaster Management Authority, in collaboration with CSIR-CBRI Roorkee, inaugurated a two-day awareness workshop on building reorganization at ITDP Bhavan in Rikang Pio, Tribal District Kinnaur. The event was chaired by Assistant Commissioner Vijay Kumar.
The workshop aims to provide detailed information to various departments on the reorganization of buildings in Kinnaur district. Experts A.S. Negi and Engineer Ashish Kapoor from CBRI Roorkee were invited as resource persons to share their knowledge and techniques.
On the first day, A.S. Negi and Engineer Ashish Kapoor explained to the officials how old structures and buildings can be revitalized using reorganization equipment and machines, thereby extending their lifespan and ensuring the safety of the residents. They covered topics such as the reorganization of concrete structures, masonry structures, flooring, ceilings, tanks, and pipes.
The workshop was attended by officers from various departments, including Public Works, Water Power, Medical, Electricity, Police, and the District Development Office, as well as Revenue Officer and Deputy Tehsildar Sangla from all three development sections.
