Only people can save democracy by answering money power: Sukhu
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu today addressed an election rally at Ani in Kullu district and campaigned in favor of Congress party candidate Vikramaditya. Lashing out at the rebels, the Chief Minister said that 6 MLAs were sold in the political market of BJP during the Rajya Sabha elections and made an unsuccessful attempt to topple the state government. He said that the rebel MLAs kept roaming outside Himachal Pradesh for a month to get the second installment of the deal and after getting the entire installment, they joined BJP. He said that the conspiracy of BJP and rebels could not succeed and now it is the turn of manpower. He said that only the people can save democracy. This battle is between justice and injustice but ultimately truth will prevail. He said that the public will never forgive the MLAs sold in the political market.
Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that Kangana Ranaut is the daughter of Himachal Pradesh and a good actress. He said that no matter how good an actor is, if the director is a flop then the film is never successful. He said that the 25-seat director, fearing Congress candidate Vikramaditya, convinced Kangana to shoot for 40 days to keep himself away from the elections, but a flop director’s film is sure to flop. He said that Congress has a top hero like Vikramaditya Singh, who understands the problems of the common people and public service is his only aim. He said that Vikramaditya did great work even during the disaster and got the disaster affected roads restored.
The Chief Minister said that during the disaster, the present state government brought home 75 thousand tourists stranded in Kullu district and temporarily restored electricity, water and road facilities in a record time of 48 hours. Despite the disaster, every apple from the orchards was delivered to the markets. He said that the state government has historically increased the minimum support price of apple by one and a half rupees to Rs 12. He said that BJP only played politics in the disaster and did not stand with the disaster affected families.
Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the present state government restored the old pension in the very first cabinet meeting. Whereas in Rajasthan, the old pension was stopped as soon as the BJP government was formed. He said that now Himachal BJP leaders are busy in stopping Rs 9000 crore of NPS. He said that the state government has decided to provide Rs 1500 as Samman Nidhi to women from April 1, 2024. Whereas BJP is trying to stop it by going to the Election Commission. He said that Rs 3000 will be given to women in the month of June.
The Chief Minister said that in the biggest disaster in the history of Himachal Pradesh last year, 4000 houses were completely destroyed and 22000 families were affected. He said that the Central Government did not provide any help for relief from the disaster and the present State Government, with its limited resources, has given a special relief package of Rs 4500 crore for the disaster affected people and if the house is completely damaged, the compensation will be Rs 1.5 lakh. Increased from Rs. to Rs. 7 lakhs.
Congress candidate from Mandi Lok Sabha seat Vikramaditya Singh was also present on this occasion.
