One died and seven suffer injuries in a food eatery blast near Mall Road Shimla

A massive blast that occurred in a food eatery jolted the entire Mall road and damaged five nearby shops, the latest report said that one person died and seven others were injured this evening leaving this town in panic.

The police chief of Shimla district Sanjay Gandhi was on the spot. He said that a rescue operation is being held and the cause of the mishap could not be confirmed. The administration did not confirm the death causality however victims include the passerby. The Local MLA Harish Janartha confirmed that one person died and three are critically injured. Victims include a passer by Avinish Sood the owner of New Plaza restaurant. According to eyewitnesses the shock of the blast jolted the entire town and the Madane showroom floor was also damaged on the Mall road. The mishap occurred in Himachali Rasoi on the basement floor of Mall Road near Shiv Mandir. The sources said that reason for the blast may be the leakage of LPG cylinders and compressors in the food eatery.  

The police sources said that the entire area was cordoned off and a team of Fire Service, Police, and Administration is conducting the rescue operation. Two jewelry shops and a showroom damaged due to the massive impact of the Blast. All the injured are admitted at IGMC Hospital Shimla.
