Old Hindustan Tibet National Highway blocks by an avalanche

Old Hindustan Tibet National Highway-5 blocked by an avalanche near Tinku Nallah in Pooh Subdivision of Kinnuar district in Himachal Pradesh on Thursday. Stats Diaster Management authority spokesperson said in a press release issued here today that an incident of Avalanche occurred at NH- 05 near Tinku Nallah due to which road was blocked & restoration work is under process. Long line of vehicles were waiting to open the roads and BRO has provided heavy machinery to open the roads.SDMA stated that heavy snowfall disrupted 252 road including four National Highway and power supply was down in 1024 DTR. 173 roads are snowbound in Lahaul Spiti and 53 in Chamba district.31 roads are off in Kullu and 12 in Shimla district. Power supply remained disrupted in 701 DTR in Chamba,125 in Lahaul Spiti and 120 in Mandi district. Sunny sky in the morning gave respite from three days of inclement weather and coldwave condition. However it was partly cloudy in the afternoon today. In last 24 hrs many places received snowfall and rain ad Gondla-had 20 cm snow, Kothi in Kullu 12 cm Khadrala in Shimla 10 cm, Keylong in Lahaul-Spiti 9 cm,  Kalpa in Kinnuar 7 vm, Sangla-7 cm Shillaroo in Shimla and Tissa in Chamba 5 cm each. In Chamba district Kheri got 88 mm rain Saloni-43 mm, Dharmshala-29 mm Sangrah in Sirmaur 26mm,  Jogindernagar in Mandi 24 mm, Nadaun in Hamirpur 22 mm, Mehre.in Kullu 20 mm Jatton Barrage in Sirmaur  & Mandi-14 mm each, Gaggal in Kangra 13mm, Ghamroor-12mm, Baijnath-10 mm, Una, Gohar in Mandi 9 mm, Manali, & Palampur mm8 each. Met office forecast mainly dry weather in next 24 hes however another western disturbence likely to affect the state from January 28 to Jan 30. Most places of mid and high reaches likely to receive snowfall and rain on January 29 and 30 and many places in the foothills. It would be mainly dry tomorrow.
