Normal life disrupted due to high-velocity thunderstorms in Himachal

Normal life was disrupted by high velocity thunderstorm accompanied with lightening and heavy downpour early today.

Report of windstorm are coming from Sundernagar in Mandi district, Jubbarhati and Shimla uprooting of trees and disrupting power supply and delaying harvesting of Rabi crop. 

In Sirmaur district Pachhad had 27.3 mm rain, Ponta Sahib:7.2 mm, Dhulakuan six mm, Jubbarhati airport 6.6 mm,Kasauli six mm. Solan 3.6 and Shimla 3 mm.

Minimum temperature of  Shimla was 10.3 degees, Sundernagar 17.6, Bhuntar 14, Kalpa 7.4, Dharamshala 16.2, Una 19.7, Nahan 20 Keylong 4.6, Solan 14.7, Manali 10,Kangra 20,  Mandi 18.7, Bilaspur 18, Hamirpur 18.7

 Chamba 17  Dalhousie 9.5, Jubberhatti 13.4, Kufri 7.5 and Narakanda 7.2 degees respectively.

Indian Meteorological Department issued yellow alert that there is possibility of thunderstrom and lightening at one or two places on plains and high reaches in next 24 hrs. 

 Rain could damage standing crops, fruit plants and young seedlings. Follow the advisories and guidelines farmers should take adequate arrangements to avoid direct impact of rain, thunder and lightning on the new plants.

Farmers are advised to reschedule the spraying of insecticides.
