No respite from 3 months long dry-spell , Snowfall confines to higher reaches 

The forecast of rain and snowfall in most places in last 24hrs gave no respite to end three and half month long draught and dry-spell in Himachal Pradesh as snowfall confined to highreaches. Indian Meteorological Department issued yellow alert of rain and snowfall in most places in mid and high reaches but including Tourist resort Kufri and Shimla and its nearby areas received traces of rain. Tourist resort Manali got rainfall. Farmers and Apple growers are waiting winter rain and snow but no major spell was recorded after monsoon season in the state. Baring few places of Lahaul-Spiti district and isolated pockets of Kinnaur, Shimla and Chamba district in very high altitude Weather was overcast but mainly dry in last 24 hrs. Thousands of tourists who are waiting for snowfall since X-mass and New year have dumped by dry weather conditions in the state. According to Met office Kothi in Kullu had 15cm snow, Hansa in Lahaul Spiti ten cm, Gondla 5.7 cm, Kukamseri 6.5 cm, Keylong 3 cm and Khadrala in Shimla district 5 cm and Kaloa in Kinnuar 2.6 cm and Samdo 2.0cm. Tourist resort Manali in Kullu had 17 mm rain, Seobagh  8 mm, Bhuntar 2 mm and Reckongpeo in Kinnuar and Dalhousie one mm. In the rest of place traces of rain and Snowfall recorded but its impact remained not enough infront of prolonged dry-spell, pollution dust and thick fogs.  Minimum temperature of Keylong was minis 6.7, Kalpa minus 1.6, Manali 0.7,  Shimla two, Dharamshala 7.2 -2 Una 3.6, Solan 4.7, Kangra 8.7, Mandi 5.6, Bilaspur 6.5, Hamirpur 4.3,  Chamba six

Dalhousie 0.9,  Kufri -1.3, Narakanda  minus 2.6 and Kasauli 7.7.Met Office forecast inclement weather conditions in the state but bright sunshine and rising temperatures keeping normal life in the state.
