NIT Hamirpur Students Dazzle with Cutting-Edge Innovations at Nimbus 2026
The campus of National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hamirpur came alive today as students showcased their creativity and problem-solving skills at a vibrant project exhibition, part of the annual technical festival NIMBUS-2026, themed “Aethera: Beyond the Sentient.”
Registrar Archna Nanoty explained that the exhibition was designed to highlight practical solutions to real-world challenges, with projects spanning energy, environment, healthcare, robotics, and digital technologies.
Highlights included:
- Team Medextrous: A hand-crank generator to manually produce electricity and an adaptive terrain walker robot.
- Team Hermetica: A biochar microbial fuel cell generating electricity from organic waste while treating wastewater.
- Team Ojas: A directional ultrasonic sound system and FireVolt Green, converting agricultural waste into electricity.
- Team Abraxas: AURA, a contactless human activity monitor, and SkyTracker, a drone for disaster rescue.
- Team Metamorph: Neuro-adaptive material that changes stiffness and a fog condenser to collect water from air.
- Team Vibhav: ChemoPress, a medical support device, and Morphus, a shape-shifting robot for tough terrains.
Other standout projects included a smart soil stabilization system, an earthquake-resistant wall, Collabrix (a collaborative coding platform), and Habit Guard, a productivity app.
The exhibition not only celebrated student ingenuity but also underscored NIT Hamirpur’s role as a hub of innovation, where young minds are shaping technologies that could transform lives.
