New MSME Technology Centres to Boost Innovation in Himachal’s Industrial Hubs
Himachal Pradesh’s small and medium enterprises are set to get a big push, with the Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) approving two new Technology Centres for the state. These centres will be established in the industrial areas of Parwanoo (Solan district) and Pandoga (Una district), as part of a nationwide rollout of 13 such facilities.
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri announced the initiative, highlighting its importance for local industries. He explained that MSME Technology Centres are designed to give enterprises access to advanced technology, skilled manpower, and specialised technical services. From engineering and plastics to automation, these centres will help businesses modernise, improve product quality, and compete more effectively.
The Pandoga centre, to be set up in the Community Centre building of Haroli Assembly segment, will cost around ₹10 crore. Agnihotri said once operational, both centres will accelerate industrial growth in Himachal, providing facilities that are “at par with the best in the world.”
Equipped with modern machinery, the centres will offer innovation support, technical training, and high-quality inputs to both existing and upcoming industrial units. They will also provide facilities for manufacturing machine tools and dies, along with repair and overhaul services for machinery in industrial areas.
Importantly, training programmes will be available in virtual mode, ensuring that entrepreneurs in remote and far-flung regions can access technical expertise and skill development opportunities without leaving their hometowns.
With this move, Himachal Pradesh’s industrial landscape is expected to see a surge in investment, innovation, and job creation, giving local businesses the tools they need to thrive in a competitive market.
