Nearly six decade old inspection cottage in Thandidhar was burnt down
The inspection cottage built by the Forest Department in the year 1965 in the remote village of Thandidhar in Rajgarh block was burnt to ashes yesterday. Deputy Forest Range Officer Rajgarh said that some unknown mischievous element has destroyed this six decade old heritage of the Forest Department by setting it on fire at around 12:30 in the night. He said that in the past, apart from the Forest Department, this was the only place available for overnight stay for the officers and employees visiting this area. He said that this inspection cottage was currently being used by the Forest Department as a forest guard post of Thandi Dhar Beat. Let us tell you that Forest Guard Phoola Ram working in Thandi Dhar Beat was living in it. This forest inspection cottage comes under the Habban Range of Rajgarh Forest Division. He said that on the day of arson, Beat Incharge Phoola Ram had gone to Habban Nursery to bring saplings for the plantation area and was on night patrol on his return. Forest friend Ambika Thakur working in Thandidhar beat was kept in the cottage to take care of the inspection cottage. She was present in the inspection cottage at the time of the fire. There has been no loss of life due to the fire. The entire forest inspection cottage has been burnt to ashes due to the fire.
