National Teachers’ Awards 2024: Call for Online Self-Nominations

Starting 27 June 2024, the Ministry of Education’s portal will accept online self-nominations from eligible teachers for the National Teachers’ Awards 2024. The deadline for submission is 15 July 2024. A total of 50 teachers will be honored this year, selected through a rigorous three-stage process at the District, State, and National levels. The President of India will present the awards on 5th September 2024 during a ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

The Department of School Education & Literacy, under the Ministry of Education, holds an annual national function on Teachers’ Day, 5th September, to recognize the nation’s best teachers. These awards celebrate outstanding teachers who have significantly enhanced the quality of school education and positively impacted their students’ lives through dedication and hard work.

Eligibility Criteria:

School teachers and Heads of Schools working in recognized primary/middle/high/higher secondary schools run by State Governments/UT Administrations, local bodies, and private schools affiliated with State/UT Boards are eligible. This includes:

  • Central Government Schools such as Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs), Sainik Schools managed by the Ministry of Defence (MoD), schools run by the Atomic Energy Education Society (AEES), and Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) run by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
  • Schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE).
