National Highway 205 declared unsafe, Vehicular traffic divert through alternate routes 

District Administration Shimla has today declared National Highway 205 link Shimla with Mandi unfit for vehicular traffic and directed the police to divert vehicular traffic through alternate routes.

In a notification issued here today Deputy Commissioner Aditya Negi that Sub Divisional Magistrate, Shimla ( Rural ) has informed that step has been taken after heavy rainfall in the district Shimla, the Bailey Bridge constructed on National Highway No.205 ( Mandi – Shimla ) near Ghandal has been badly damaged.  SDM  Shimla (Rural) along with officers of National Highway, HPPWD, and the Police Department have visited the spot and observed that there is a danger to plying any vehicle on the Bailey Bridge. 

For the safety of the public and has proposed an alternative traffic plan for the above-said portion of the National Highway between  Galog to Ghanahatti on an alternative one-way traffic route.  Heavy Vehicles leading towards Shimla would run from – Galog ( NH – 205 ) – Dhami – Bagipul – Dev Nagar – Ghanahatti ( NH – 205 ) . and Light Vehicles ( LMV ): – Bangora – Bangora Gali ( NH – 205 ) – Uperli Jhakhri – Sedan Shakrah – Pakki Bawri ( NH – 205 ) – Ghanahatti ( NH – 205 )s

The Heavy Vehicles (  HMV ) from Shimla would run on Ghanahatti ( NH – 205 ) – Kanda – Panesh – Rugra – Kohbag Rangol – Shalaghat – Galog ( NH – 205 ) and  Light Vehicles (LMV):- Ghanahatti (NH-205)-Haridevi-Nalhatti-Kalihatti-Bangora (NH-205).  However, the diverted traffic plan will depend upon the conditions of above said roads.  The police would deploy traffic personnel to ensure the smooth flow of traffic.
