National Flag Hoisted at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla on the Occasion of the 77th Republic Day
On the occasion of the 77th Republic Day, the National Flag was hoisted at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Rashtrapati Nivas, Shimla, by the Director of the Institute, Professor Himanshu Kumar Chaturvedi. The ceremony symbolized the triumph of India’s independence, democratic values, and constitutional system.
On this occasion, Professor Chaturvedi stated that Republic Day reminds every citizen of their duties towards the nation and inspires them to actively contribute to national development. He said that the day provides an opportunity to internalize the values enshrined in the Constitution of India—justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity—which form the foundation of the country’s democracy.
He further remarked that Amrit Kaal, which began in 2021, represents a historic resolve for India, with the goal of building a self-reliant and developed nation by the year 2047. This vision encourages collective effort, innovation, knowledge, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Professor Chaturvedi also emphasized that when every individual in society begins to believe that even small efforts can bring about significant change, the process of nation-building becomes stronger. He called upon everyone to conscientiously discharge their respective responsibilities and contribute to the holistic development of the country.
On this occasion, officers, staff members and Fellows of the Institute were present and reaffirmed their commitment to national unity and constitutional values.
