National Dengue Day celebrated in Tutu School

National Dengue Day was celebrated at Government Excellent Senior Secondary School, Tutu on Thursday, courtesy of the Health and Family Welfare Department. Which was presided over by Chief Medical Officer Shimla Dr. Rakesh Pratap. On this occasion, a speech competition was organized in which Mishal stood first, Kanika stood second and Aarushi stood third.
In his address on this occasion, CMO said that dengue is a vector borne disease which is spread by the bite of infected female mosquito. Symptoms of this disease often include severe headache, fever, pain in muscles and joints, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, extreme fatigue and red rashes on the body. He told that bleeding from nose, mouth and stool are the main symptoms of this disease. If such symptoms are found, the patient should immediately get a free blood test done at the nearest health center.
Dr. Rakesh Pratap told that to avoid this disease, do not allow water to accumulate around the house. Do not allow water to accumulate in tyres, bottles, cans etc. While working, cover your arms, legs and feet and maintain body cleanliness. Be sure to spray where mosquitoes gather. Use mosquito net at night. Do not allow grass, weeds etc. to grow around the house.
On this occasion, health teachers Dafraiq and Meena Sharma threw light on the topic Dengue Prevention – Our Responsibility for a Safe Tomorrow. He called upon the children to share the information they have acquired in this camp with the people in their home and neighborhood so that no one becomes victim of this dengue disease.
Earlier, Principal Dr. Rashim Rana expressed his gratitude to the Health Department for organizing the camp in the school and urged to organize such informative camps in future also.
