Meritorious students honored at the annual function in Peeran School

The Government Senior Secondary School, Peeran, in the Junga tehsil, celebrated its annual prize distribution ceremony with great pomp and show on Friday. Schoolchildren had been eagerly awaiting their awards since morning. Diya Kumari, a Class 12 student, was awarded the title of Best Girl. Harichand Sharma, the Animal Husbandry Department’s pharmaceutical coordinator, inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp as the chief guest.
In his address, he said that the annual function is a mirror of the achievements of any educational institution, in which meritorious students are rewarded and other children get inspiration to move ahead from the meritorious students. On this occasion, students who achieved excellent positions in academic, cultural, sports and other activities were rewarded. Harichand Sharma announced that during the next academic session, free notebooks will be given to students from class 1 to 12.
Earlier, Acting Principal Devinda Chauhan welcomed the people present at the function including the chief guest and presented the annual report of the school.
On this occasion, school children entertained the audience by presenting cultural programmes.
Village head Kiran Sharma, former head Dayaram Verma, Atar Singh Thakur, Kamlesh Thakur, Headmaster High School Dhali Rakesh Verma, Daulat Ram Mehta, KD Sharma, SMC head Neeraj Thakur, retired headmaster Prakash Verma, Hansraj Verma, Ramgopal Mehta, Ramesh Thakur, school superintendent SR Sharma, all SMC members, teachers Sunil Parashar, Kumari Kalpana, Krishna Chandel, Pooja Sarta, Dinesh Kumar, Sheela Sharma, Balwinder Thakur, Sharda Devi, Nisha along with teachers from other nearby schools and a large number of local people participated in the program.
Names of the children awarded –
Among the students who stood first in the last academic year, Rahul Thakur of class 12th, Diya Kumari of class 11th, Anjali of class 10th, Aarushi of class 9th, Angel Thakur of class 8th, Arnav of class 7th and Devishi Sharma of class 6th were awarded. In sports activities, Manish Negi in the under 19 boys category and Priya in the girls category were awarded. Similarly, Ridhima, Parul, Isha, Artika and Vanshika in the under 14 girls category and Krish, Suraj, Tarun, Arnav and Sumit in the boys category were awarded. In Scouts and Guides, Angel Thakur, Dixit, Saksham and Priyanka were also awarded by presenting mementos.
