Many Schools from Himachal makes forays in FIQ
Number of School including DVPS, MIA DAV and Samoor Kalan GSSS from Solan and Una districts of Himachal Pradesh top preliminary round of Fit India Quiz, PIB press release issued here today said.
Amidst anticipation about which schools and students have bagged the first and second ranking NTS announced the results of the preliminary round of the first-ever FIQ, India’s biggest sports and fitness quiz for students was announced today.
The Preliminary round of the quiz was conducted by the National Testing Agency, under union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and result issued by PIB said the institution that conducts the IIT and JEE entrance exams.
that Jashanpreet Singh from Doon Valley Public School stood first in the Preliminary round, while Akshat Thakur of MIA DAV Public School stood second.
Among the other schools that qualified in the Preliminary round are SOLANGMSSS NALAGARH, SHIMLADELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL JHAKRI, SOLAN, ALPINE PUBLIC SCHOOL, KINNAUR GSSS KALPA, SHIMLALAL PANI GOVT BOYS SR SEC SCHOOL SHIMLA, SOLAN GSSS GUGGAGHATUNA, GGSSS UNA,BILASPURGOVT SR SEC SCHOOL , KULLUGlass , SOLAN DELHI WORLD PUBLIC SCHOOL, KANGRA, KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA YOL CANTT, BILASPURGPCS GALLIAN and SOLANSRI AUROBINDO PUBLIC SCHOOL
The national toppers or the Preliminary round are from Uttar Pradesh. While Divyanshu Chamoli of Delhi Public School, Greater Noida won the top spot, he was closely followed by Shashwat Mishra of Sunbeam School, Lahartara, Varanasi.
Competition saw participants from 13,502 schools from more than 626 districts across the country, out of which students of 360 schools across 36 States and Union Territories have now been shortlisted for the State Rounds.
The Quiz has a prize money of 3.25 crores which will be given out to winning schools and students at various phases of the quiz.
Top scorers of the Preliminary round would move into the state round and compete to become their respective state champions.
The 36 school teams (winner from each State and Union Territory) would then move to the National Round that would take place later this year and would be telecast on Star Sports & webcast on multiple social media channels.
The main aim of the quiz is to create awareness among students about India’s rich sporting history and to also tell them more about India’s centuries-old indigenous sports and our national and regional sporting heroes.
