Man ends his life by hanging to a pipe railing near the railway museum

Himachal Pradesh State Secretariat Employee who was posted in a sensitive confidential branch as superintendent was found hanging to a pipe railing near the Kalka-Shimla Railway track Bhalkhu Museum near old ISBT.

Additional SP Northern Traffic Tourist and Railway,  Nirvir Singh Rathore told us that circumstantial evidence revealed that it is a suicide case. No suicide note was recovered from the crime spot.

The police are probing the crime and investigating the reason for taking extreme steps to end the life.

He said that railway police got information around 800 hrs on Saturday that, a person was found hanging on the railing below the railway track between Shimla Railway Station and Bhalku Museum.

A Police team reached the spot brought down the body and sent it to the hospital for postmortem. The deceased was identified as Mehar Singh (47) who was posted as Superintendent of Confidential Branch in the Secretariat. 

He is living at Nabha govt residential accommodation at House Block S, Type 2 Set No. 154 in Shimla. He belonged to Sundernagar district Mandi.
