The status of Rajgarh Baisakhi fair was raised to state level
The three-day district level Shri Shirgul Devta Baisakhi fair concluded with great pomp last night. Industry, Labor and Employment, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan participated as the chief guest in the last cultural evening of the fair. On this occasion, he inaugurated the cultural evening by lighting the lamp and also released the souvenir published by the fair committee. On this occasion, SDM Rajgarh and Nagar Panchayat Rajgarh President Jyoti Sahni honored Industry Minister, MP Suresh Kashyap, MLA Reena Kashyap, former Zilla Parishad President Dayal Pyari, APMC President Sitaram Sharma, Director Cooperative Bank Bharat Bhushan, Ramesh Desaik, Nihal Rapta and other guests.
In his address on this occasion, the Industry Minister announced to raise the status of Baisakhi fair of Rajgarh to a state level fair. He said that keeping in view the importance of this fair, this fair will be celebrated as a state level fair from next year. Apart from this, he announced to start MA classes in one or two subjects in Degree College Rajgarh from the next academic session and to bring the Rajgarh sub depot of HRTC under Nahan depot instead of Solan.
Harshvardhan Chauhan said that a new chapter of development is being written in the state under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. He said that the divisional office of Jal Shakti Department has been opened in Rajgarh by the present government so that better arrangements for water can be made for the people in this area.
While wishing people on the occasion of the fair, he said that Rajgarh fair is one of the ancient fairs of the state which is celebrated every year on Baisakhi in the name of Shirgul, the revered deity of this region. He said that fairs and festivals are the carriers of our rich culture, whose organization not only gives people a chance to meet each other, exchange ideas, but also generates a feeling of mutual love, mutual cooperation, brotherhood among people, which strengthens the unity and integrity of the nation.
MP from Shimla parliamentary constituency Suresh Kashyap said in his address that it is very important to maintain the ancient dignity of the fair. He said that such events enhance the rich culture of the state.
Earlier, SDM Rajgarh and Chairman Fair Committee Rajkumar Thakur welcomed the people who came to the fair including the chief guest and gave detailed information about the organization of the fair.
On this occasion, local MLA Reena Kashyap, former Zilla Parishad president Dayal Pyari, APMC president Sitaram, Rajgarh SDM Rajkumar Thakur, DSP VC Negi, Tehsildar Umesh Sharma, Nagar Panchayat president Jyoti Sahni, officials from various departments and Congress and BJP officials were present.
