Lucknow Raj Bhawan celebrated Himachal Pradesh Foundation Day
Hati ki Naati and Singhtu dance mesmerized the audience of Lucknow
Internationally renowned folk artist and world record holder Dr. Jogendra Habib told in a press statement that the foundation day of Himachal Pradesh was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Raj Bhavan in Lucknow. On this special occasion, the chief guest of the program organized at the Raj Bhavan was Her Excellency Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Anandiben Patel.
In this function organized at Lucknow Raj Bhawan, artists from Chudeshwar Mandal, Pazhouta, Sirmaur were sent for cultural performance, courtesy of Language and Culture Department, Himachal Pradesh.
The artists of the Chudeshwar Cultural Mandal received a lot of applause from the Raj Bhawan audience by presenting excellent performances of Thoda dance, Rihalti Gee, Deepak dance, Parat dance and Rasa dance under the traditional Nati of the Hati community. The nearly five hundred year old Singhtu dance of Giripar of Sirmaur, related to environment and Dev tradition, was also a special attraction of the cultural program. In the cultural program, Dev Sharma and his companions also presented Nati, Padhuan and Lambada very well.
In his address at the Raj Bhavan, Dr. Jogendra Habib said that on behalf of all the people of Himachal, I express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you for organizing such a dignified event like Himachal Foundation Day at Raj Bhavan Lucknow. This initiative, which strengthens the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’, is a matter of great pride for all of us.
During the programme, artists of Chudeshwar Mandal honoured His Excellency the Governor by making him wear a traditional Himachali cap and muffler.
Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel praised Himachali artists in her speech. She said that in a hilly state like Himachal, even in difficult circumstances, hardworking people are moving ahead on the path of development, this is inspiring for all of us. She described the beauty and cultural richness of Himachal as the heritage of the country.
The artists of the Choodeshwar Mandal mainly included Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar-winning folk artist Gopal Habibi, Ramlal Verma, Bimla Chauhan, Chaman, Sandeep, Sunil, Naveen, Deviram, Baldev, Narendra, Saroj, Anu, Payal, Hemlata, Tanu, Aarti, Preeti, Dinesh and Indra.
