Lions Club Shimla Donates Stretchers Worth ₹85,000 to Strengthen Healthcare at Civil Hospital Khaneri
Carrying forward its global motto “We Serve,” the Lions Club Shimla continues to play an active role in social welfare, civic initiatives, and community development in the region. The club regularly undertakes activities aimed at supporting healthcare, education, and the overall upliftment of society.
Sharing details about the initiative, Zone Chairperson of Lions District, Lion Man Mohan Verma said that the organization is always looking for meaningful opportunities to serve society. He added that the club welcomes more individuals who wish to contribute to community welfare and work collectively to make the world a better place to live.
In a recent humanitarian effort, Lion Gopal Vaid informed that Lions Club Shimla donated stretchers worth ₹85,000 to the Civil Hospital Khaneri. The donation was made following a request from the hospital, which had been facing a shortage of stretchers. The contribution is expected to significantly improve patient care and ensure quicker medical response during emergencies, particularly benefiting people from surrounding rural areas.
The stretchers were formally handed over in the august presence of Raja Vikramaditya Singh, the Hon’ble Minister of Public Works Department (PWD). Also present were the Senior Medical Officer (SMO) of the hospital, members of the local community, and representatives of the Lions Club.
During the event, the minister appreciated the noble gesture of Lions Club Shimla and expressed his gratitude to the club for supporting the healthcare needs of the rural population. He acknowledged that such contributions strengthen emergency medical services and greatly benefit patients in the region.
The Lions Club delegation at the event included Club President Lion Gopal Vaid, Zone Chairperson Lion Man Mohan Verma, Project Chairperson Lion O.P. Mehta, along with members Lion K.R. Sharma, Lion Anil, Lion K.C. Sharma, Lion Sanjiv, Lion Devinder Mittal, Lion Pradeep, and several other Lions who were present to mark the occasion.
