Kullu’s Wings Are Back: Flights from Chandigarh to Bhuntar Resume After Two Years
Winter is knocking, and Himachal’s tourism industry is gearing up for a fresh wave of travelers. But this season brings more than just snowfall and cozy bonfires—it brings back something locals and tourists have missed for two long years: direct flights from Chandigarh to Kullu.
Yes, you read that right. Starting November 7, Alliance Air will resume its long-awaited service between Chandigarh and Bhuntar Airport, making it easier than ever to reach the heart of the Kullu Valley.
A Much-Needed Lift for Tourism
The flight route had been suspended since November 2023, leaving many travelers with long road journeys as their only option. But with tourism bouncing back and winter adventures calling, the skies are opening up again.
According to Anil Kumar, AGM of Bhuntar Airport, “Alliance Air’s flight from Bhuntar to Chandigarh is scheduled to begin on November 7.” And that’s music to the ears of local businesses.
Atishay Vashisht, President of the Kullu District Travel Agents Association, couldn’t be happier. “This new flight service will give tourism a real boost. Visitors from Chandigarh can now enjoy a quick and scenic journey straight to Bhuntar.”
