Kisan Sabha Demands for immediate relief to the affected family

Farmers are currently facing all-round wrath of nature. On one hand, animals are getting sick and losing their lives due to lumpy skin disease, while on the other hand the havoc of rain is wreaking havoc on the farmers. The family of Ramswaroop of Kail village was also the victim of this havoc. On August 19, the debris of the forest entered Ramswaroop’s cowshed, in which two cows lost their lives. After the death of both the milch cows, now they are left with only one bull and three chicks. In the name of relief from the administration, Ramswaroop has got only one tarpaulin in which he has kept the rest of his animals.

State President of Himachal Kisan Sabha, Dr. Kuldeep Singh Tanwar along with his team reached Kail village and met the affected family. After taking stock of the situation, Dr. Tanwar has demanded from the administration that adequate relief should be provided to Ramswaroop’s family. If the disaster management law is not possible through the relief manual, then relief should be given to the affected family from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund or the district administration, because along with the loss of both the cows, the cowshed has also been completely destroyed, on which reconstruction will be done. It will also cost a lot.

Dr. Tanwar said that animals cannot be kept in the open for long days in the rainy season as there is a danger of spreading lumpi disease these days. Anytime in the open, disease-carrying insects and flies can infect animals.

Dr. Tanwar said that the relief given to the affected under the Disaster Management Act is negligible. It does not even provide 10 per cent relief of the entire loss. He demanded to amend the relief manual of the Disaster Management Act. He said that the government should give at least 50 per cent relief of the loss.

Dr. Tanwar said that Satlai is the last panchayat of Mashobra block and Shimla tehsil. The Kail village of whose Jhandi ward is a very inaccessible village. This village with 14 families struggled with the problem of village water for a long time. The entire village is still in a state of shock and terrified because of the accident
