Kasumpti unit of CPI(M) condemns denial of permission for Junga Dussehra fair
Kasumpti local unit of CPI(M) condemned the district administration for not granting permission for the historic Junga Dussehra fair to be held tomorrow.
The party unit condemned the role of the district administration Junga for not having permission for the historic Junga Dussehra fair in the old ground as this was under the control of the 1st IRB Junga.
Party said that social and cultural festival is part of local people and administration should not interfere in the organization of such events.
The fair was being held at some other place which is very congested and local traders and sweet shops did not have enough space during the event.
Junga Estate was the oldest royal Dynasty holding this festival here for two centuries or maybe more.
18 small estates also came under this Princily state and were organizing this event for centuries.
This fair was declared district level by the previous Congress government but according to the party unit, the organizer and administration could avail the permission to be granted from the Courts as a matter of holding local festivals in government-run institutions and the ground being challenged in the court.
According to sources, the high court is currently closed on account of the Dussehra holidays.
The organiser of the event and Administration could not seek an early hearing of the matter and the court has decided to hear it in November month after this fair is over.
