Kangra district of Himachal jolted by light tremors

 Many parts of Kangra district jolted by a 2.8 Magnitude tremor on Friday Morning in Himachal Pradesh, a National Disaster Management media release confirmed.

A light-intensity earthquake having a magnitude of 2.8 on the Richter scale was felt in many places of the highly sensitive seismological zone in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh at 0455 hrs on Friday.

 The epicenter of the earthquake was located at Latitude 32.38 and Longitude 75.90 and 37 deep in the hills of Kangra district.

There are no reports of loss of life and property due to the earthquake. 

It is worthwhile to mention that on April 4, 1905, Kangra district witnessed a devastating earthquake measuring about 7.8 in which more than 20000 people were killed as 14000 houses and cowshed ground.
