Junga school students became champions in hockey

District level under 19 girl group sports competition was concluded on Sunday at Government Model Senior Secondary School, Junga. About 235 girl students from 31 schools from different sections of Shimla district participated in this three-day sports competition. Government Senior Secondary School, Junga defeated Sunni and won the hockey trophy. Now these girl students of this school will represent Shimla district at the state level.
Similarly, in basketball, SPS Sarahan stood first and Matiana stood second, in handball, SPM Sarahan stood first Portmore stood second and in Judo, Sainz stood first and Ghanhati stood second. In boxing, Portmore stood first and Rohru stood second, in athletics MPM Fagu stood first and Rohru stood second.
Similarly, Sanjana got first place in a 100-meter and 200-meter race. Whereas Aarushi got first place in the 400-meter race, Anamika in the 800-meter race, and Preeti got first place in the 1500 and 3000-meter race. In the march past, Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Portmore stood first and Rampur stood second.
The closing ceremony was presided over by NS Chambiyal, Divisional Manager, Life Insurance Corporation of India and he distributed prizes to the winners and runners-up. This sports competition was inaugurated by retired professor Jyotidhar Sharma.
Before this, the Principal of the local school Suman Chandel welcomed the chief guest and expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries who made their constructive contributions in organizing this three-day sports competition.
On this occasion, Deputy Director Higher Education District Shimla Lekh Raj Bhardwaj, Principal Ratan Verma and Lokendra Negi, Santosh Chauhan, Sports Incharge Hans Raj Sharma, Assistant Sports Incharge Poonam Thakur and Supervisor Amarjeet Kaur, Sports Incharge Hansraj Sharma, Assistant Sports Incharge Poonam Thakur and Physical teachers and players from various schools including supervisor Amarjeet Kaur were present.
