Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) Establishes New Benchmark in Technical Higher Education

Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat, Solan,
Himachal Pradesh, organized a press meet on 05 th April 2025 at its
mesmerizing and beautiful Campus. The University has set new benchmark in
higher technical education in the state of Himachal Pradesh with a subsidiary
objective of attracting students from the region as well as neighboring states to
Himachal, as the most sought after destination for quality education.
Press meet started with a welcome note by Prof. Tiratha Raj Singh, Media In-
charge, JUIT. Prof. Singh gave a brief overview of the purpose of the meet and
how JUIT is disseminating the quality education to the young aspirants.
Brig. R.K. Sharma (Retd.), Registrar and Dean of Students, elaborated on the
genesis of establishment of JUIT and its exclusive nature vis-à-vis other private
universities in the state, infrastructure and hostel management details with
various amenities and avenues of co-curricular activities provided to the
students.
The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of JUIT, Prof. Rajendra Kumar Sharma in his
discourse, deliberated on the vision of JUIT, its focus is on research, innovation,
creativity and entrepreneurship. Establishment of Directorate of research and
Innovations and Ramanujan Supercomputing facility are some of the
testaments for future vision. Prof. Sharma mentioned that with innovative
learning, JUIT students are not only selected for internships at various IITs but
also in Amazon and Google. 8000+ alumni out of which 26.6% pursuing their
excellent careers abroad, is another testament as they are making their family
proud.
Some of the recent achievements of the university mentioned in this meet were:

NAAC A+ Grade:
One of the notable achievements of JUIT is the NAAC A+ accreditation for five
years, with CGPA of 3.40 announced by NAAC on 25 April 2024. This
accreditation underscores the university’s unwavering dedication to maintaining
the highest standards of quality in education and research. It now opens up
vistas for JUIT to offer various other certificate courses and programs.
International Rankings:
At the international stage, JUIT is amongst the premier band of universities in
the world. In the prestigious Times Higher Education World Rankings 2025, it
finds place amongst the top 801- 1000 band universities in the world. In QS
World RankingsSouthern Asia 2025,we are ranked 179and Times Higher
EducationInterdisciplinary Science Ranking 2025 we are in 251-300 band. All
these rankings corroborate the genuineness of its recognitions. We received
3.5-star rating again from Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of
Education. These accolades reflect JUIT’s standing as a globally recognized
institution committed to providing world-class education and research
opportunities.
Multiple MoUs and Patents:
With Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with various institutions/
organizations and host of foreign universities, JUIT aims to facilitate research
collaborations and strengthen its ties with leading industries and organizations
to bridge the gap between academia and industry. This ensures that its
curriculum remains relevant and responsive to the needs of the job market and
facilitates placement of students. 55 patents granted and many more are in
pipeline.
NBA for BTech Biotechnology Program:
This year again our BTech Biotechnology program from Department of
Biotechnology and Bioinformatics received accreditation from NBA for three
years from academic year 2024 to 2027.

Future Vision of JUIT:
During the press meet, VC outlined the vision for the future of JUIT. He
emphasized JUIT’s commitment to continuously enhancing the quality of
education, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students, and
strengthening collaborations with industry partners and research institutions. He
also stated that the university aims to meet the NEP norms of university with at
least 3000 students and varied disciplines in near future.
Impact on the Region:
JUIT’s prominence in technical higher education is not only a source of pride for
the university but also for Himachal Pradesh. By producing highly skilled
graduates and conducting cutting-edge research, JUIT contributes to the
region’s socio-economic development and helps meet the growing demand for
skilled professionals in the technology sector. The effort of the university is to
offer quality in education and facilities to arrest the migration of youth from H.P.
purely for education and to attract students from the plains to choose H.P. as
their preferred destination for Higher Education.
A visit to the various Departments and Laboratories showcased the world class
infrastructure with state-of-the-art labs and modern equipment and amenities.
The press meet served to understand the testament of JUIT for its outstanding
achievements and dedication to excellence in technical higher education. As
JUIT continues to lead the way in the northern region and beyond, it remains
committed to shaping the future of education and making a positive impact on
