Jairam ignored Hamirpur while in power for five years: Sukhu

Congress candidate from Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat Satpal Raizada filed his nomination today in the presence of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. After this, while addressing a huge public meeting at Hamirpur Police Line Ground, the Chief Minister said that the people of Hamirpur are my strength and the people here have supported me every moment. I will remain grateful throughout my life to the people of Hamirpur and Nadaun for the position I have reached today. He said that people’s faith inspires me to move forward. With the blessings of all of you, today I have become the Chief Minister after coming from an ordinary family. He said that today I thank everyone for trusting their leader.

Accusing Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur of ignoring Hamirpur district, Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that in the previous BJP government, not a single minister was deliberately made from Hamirpur district. The district which used to get the post of minister along with the Chief Minister, was not given any place in the previous government. He asked what Jairam Thakur did for Hamirpur district in five years. Fifteen years ago, when he was the Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal had laid the foundation stone of the bus stand in Hamirpur and Jairam Thakur did not give a single penny for the construction of the bus stand. He said that as soon as I assumed the post of Chief Minister, the work of building the bus stand has started on war footing which will be ready in the coming nine months. Along with this, the work of undergrounding the wires of Gandhi Chowk has also started.

The Chief Minister said that the Azad MLA of Hamirpur took tenders worth Rs 100 crore in fourteen months. They bravely mined the ravines and tried to loot the wealth. The sold MLA of Sujanpur joined Congress in 2014. Prem Kumar was Dhumal’s driver and became MLA by stabbing him in the back. His motive for defeating Dhumal was only to earn money. His welfare organization receives money from Baddi, through which it honors ex-servicemen. Till date, Rajendra Rana has never honored anyone by investing a single penny from his pocket. He said that the MLA of Badsar has also been sold for Rs 15 crore and investigation is being conducted against him. The Chief Minister said that the MLA of Kutlahar has also made his deal in the political market of BJP. He used to come to me to get contracts and to call XEN and he never raised any public issue. He said that Chaitanya tax was imposed on medical shops, petrol pumps, shops and crushers in Gagret. Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that as long as I remain on the post of Chief Minister, I will never compromise with corruption. He said that this is not an ordinary election because your vote will decide whether money power or manpower will win.

Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the people of the tainted state should be told why he should stay out of the state for a month. He said that before the Lok Sabha elections, negotiations were going on to topple the Congress government, so that political gains could be taken in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He said that BJP MP from Hamirpur parliamentary constituency has been there for 26 years. This time the Congress party has fielded Satpal Raizada and the people of Hamirpur must give him a chance, so that the face of this area is being changed. He said that Raizada will not lie about taking the train to Hamirpur, whereas Anurag Thakur always lies. Anurag himself takes the credit for bringing Hamirpur Medical College, whereas the truth is that I had got the medical college approved on March 3, 2014 during the UPA government. He said that during the Corona epidemic, I gave RTPCR machine worth Rs 35 lakh, whereas being an MP, this responsibility was of Anurag Thakur.

The Chief Minister said that in the previous BJP government, jobs were not sold but auctioned through the Hamirpur Subordinate Staff Selection Commission. In view of the huge corruption, it was dissolved as soon as the new government was formed in the state. He said that the newly constituted State Selection Commission has declared the result of JOA (IT) of Post Code 817 and now the documentation has started.

Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that he got the opportunity to work in the government as Chief Minister for only nine months out of fifteen months. He spent four months fighting the disaster and remained ill for two months. But without worrying about his health, he made plans for the development of the state and while lying on the hospital bed, he only thought about increasing the revenue of the state. He said that due to increase in revenue, a scheme to give Rs 1500 per month to women was brought and implemented. But BJP leaders are trying to stop this. He said that a battle is being fought with the Election Commission to deposit the money of this scheme in the accounts of women. If the Election Commission does not give permission, then three thousand rupees for two months will be given in lump sum in the month of June.

The Chief Minister said that considering the legal rights of orphan children, the responsibility of their care and education has been handed over to the state government. He said that in the very first cabinet meeting, the Congress government gave old pension to 1.36 lakh employees, from which 9000 families are benefiting today. He said that for speedy disposal of revenue cases, changes were made in the revenue laws and today more than one lakh Intkaal and seven and a half thousand Takseem cases have been settled.

On this occasion, Congress’s Himachal Pradesh in-charge Rajeev Shukla, Congress’ state president Pratibha Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, Congress’ Hamirpur Lok Sabha seat candidate Satpal Raizada and other senior party officials were present.
