It’s a historic decision taken by CM Sukhu to impose water cess on hydropower projects: Harikrishna Himral

 State Congress Secretary, State Cooperative Bank Director Harikrishna Himral has appreciated the efforts of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu towards making the state economically self-reliant and said that soon the state will stand on its own feet. He has said that the Central Government did not provide any help to the State Congress Government to emerge from the disaster. The Center is discriminating against the State which is very unfortunate.

In a press statement here today, Himral said that the historic decision taken by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu to impose water cess on hydropower projects generated from the state’s water is completely in the interest of the state. He said that the Central Government is creating hurdles in paying water cess from its hydropower projects which is completely illegal. He said that the state government has the full right to impose a tax on its resources from which companies are earning money.

Himral welcomed the decision of the State High Court to hand over Wild Flower Hotel from a private company to the state government and said that this decision is also completely in the interest of the state. He said that by getting the ownership rights of this hotel, the income of the state government will increase.

Himral has said that the state is progressing rapidly due to the foresight of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. He said that the Chief Minister has provided full help to the affected people by releasing Rs 4,500 crore from the state government fund. In the last year, due to his efficient leadership, the state has overcome natural disasters. He said that the state BJP leaders continued to bake political bread even during this disaster.
