Shashi Memorial Volleyball Tournament inaugurated in Nagrota Ghazian

Rajiv Rana, State Chairman of the Unorganized Workers and Employees Congress (KKC), inaugurated the Shashi Memorial Volleyball Tournament held in Nagarota Ghazian, Gram Panchayat Dhirad, Bhoranj Assembly constituency, as the chief guest. The tournament was dedicated to the memory of the late Shashi Thakur, who brought glory to the region and state in volleyball at the national level.

Addressing the event, Rajiv Rana said in emotionally connected words to the youth –

“The land of Nagrota Ghazian and Bhoranj has no shortage of talent, but what’s lacking is the right direction. Drug addiction is stealing the dreams of our youth, and this fight isn’t just a social one—it’s also my political commitment to free this land of drug addiction and move it forward in the direction of sports and education.”

he adds-

“The vision, discipline, and achievements of players like the late Shashi Thakur remind us that youth connected to the field never go astray. I will continue to strive to develop sports facilities in every village of Bhoranj and create a positive environment for the youth.”

The tournament was organized by the Youth Club of Dhirad and the Youth Club of Sauta, and featured 14 teams. Rajat Negi, Gaurav Negi, Vineet Negi, Priyanshu Negi, Prashant Sharma, and Nishant Sharma played a key role in the event.

Specially present at the event were –

Vishal Rana (President, K.K.C. Hamirpur), Jagdev Chand (Vice President, Youth Congress Bhoranj), Vishal Dubey (Secretary, Youth Congress Bhoranj), Rajat Rana (Vice President, Youth Congress Hamirpur), Sai and other youth encouraged the players.

The winning and runner-up teams were awarded at the closing ceremony. Rajeev Rana assured that he would raise the voice for open gyms, ground development, and regular sports competitions in Bhoranj to a stronger level, so that the sports culture in the region can be revitalized.
