Ishita of Chiyog School selected for Khelo India
Ishita, a 12th class student of Government Excellent Senior Secondary School, Chiyog, has made her debut in Khelo India by performing well in the national level under 19 Judo competition. Due to which there is an atmosphere of celebration in the entire Chiyog area. Principal Sandeep Sharma told that recently Ishita participated in the under 19 Judo competition in Pune, Maharashtra on behalf of Himachal Pradesh, in which, seeing Ishita’s excellent performance, she has been selected for Khelo India. Currently Ishita is participating in the Judo competition organized under the Khelo India scheme in Patna, Bihar. The Principal and the SMC officials have given their best wishes to Ishita and congratulated the student’s parents for this achievement.
Ishita originally belongs to Dumahar village of Chiyog. Her father Kuldeep Singh Thakur is a progressive farmer and mother Sushma Thakur is a successful housewife. Father Kuldeep Singh said that Ishita has been very fond of wrestling and judo since childhood and along with studying in school, she also participates actively in sports.
Ishita told that she wants to become an international level player in Judo for which she will practice day and night. She told that she has started participating in Judo competitions from last year in which she shows her skills in Judo with players weighing up to 57 kg. Before this she has been participating in wrestling competitions in school tournaments in which she has also won many medals at block and district level. Ishita has given the credit of her success to DPE Ramesh Sharma and her parents due to whose inspiration she has achieved this position.
