India’s resolve to become a developed nation by 2047, 100 years after independence: Suresh Kashyap

India will complete 100 years of independence in 2047. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed to make the country a developed nation before reaching that historic milestone. Bharatiya Janata Party Lok Sabha MP and candidate Suresh Kashyap said that to achieve this important goal, this period has been named ‘Amritkaal’. The primary criterion of a developed nation is its economic progress, so in this context it is necessary to look at the status of India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Suresh Kashyap said that by the year 2024, India’s per capita income is about $ 2,700 and per capita purchasing power income is about $ 10,120. India’s total GDP is $ 3.9 trillion (lakh crores) and (at official exchange rates) about $ 14.6 trillion. These figures reflect India’s economic influence. In the Economic Survey of the year 2018-19, an annual growth of eight percent (with an estimated inflation of four percent) was required to make India a five trillion dollar economy by 2024-25. The Covid pandemic has certainly affected this plan, but India’s economic aspirations and resolve remain the same, with a focus on sustainable and inclusive growth.

Kashyap said that according to the pace of the country’s economic growth, per capita income is expected to reach at least $10,000 and the size of the economy is expected to reach $20 trillion by 2047. This will take India out of the category of lower middle-income country and reach the category of upper middle-income. During this time, India has also made a strategy to take a big leap in the category of human development. At present, life expectancy in India is 70.8 years, which is expected to increase to 78 years by 2047. This achievement seems to be possible through improvement in health services.

MP Suresh Kashyap said that reforms in education are also progressing widely, and economic policies encouraging industrialization as well as the growth of the digital economy are also proving to be useful. He said that GST has to be harmonized and sectors like petroleum and real estate should also be included in it. Today it is necessary for everyone to ensure their participation to fulfill Prime Minister Modi’s goal of a developed India.
