Inauguration of the Indian Institute of Advanced Study Stall at World Book Fair 2026
New Delhi, 10 January 2026.
As part of the World Book Fair 2026 being held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, the stall of the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Rashtrapati Nivas, Shimla, was formally inaugurated today. The stall was inaugurated by the Director of the Institute, Professor Himanshu Kumar Chaturvedi, by cutting the ceremonial ribbon.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Shri Mehar Chand Negi, Secretary, Indian Institute of Advanced Study; Professor Dhananjay Singh, Member Secretary, Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR); Professor Akhilesh Mishra, Chairman, National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS); and Dr. Akhilesh Pathak, Public Relations Officer, Indian Institute of Advanced Study.
Following the inauguration, Professor Himanshu Kumar Chaturvedi visited the IIAS stall and appreciated the wide range and scholarly depth of the books and research publications displayed. He remarked that the publications of the Indian Institute of Advanced Study promote rigorous, original, and interdisciplinary research across various disciplines of Humanities and Social Sciences, and significantly contribute to linking India’s rich intellectual traditions with contemporary national and global academic discourse.
At the IIAS stall (Hall No. 2 & 3, Stall No. Q-12), an extensive collection of high-quality, research-intensive publications covering history, philosophy, literature, culture, sociology, political science, international studies, and contemporary social issues has been showcased. The stall has emerged as a prominent point of attraction for scholars, researchers, teachers, students, and serious readers.
Through its participation in the World Book Fair 2026, the Indian Institute of Advanced Study aims to reach a wider readership with its academic publications, strengthen research culture, and further reinforce India’s long-standing tradition of knowledge creation, scholarship, and intellectual dialogue. The IIAS stall will remain open to visitors from 10 to 18 January 2026.
