IMD sounds alert  of inundation & flash floods in three districts of Himachal

South West Monsoon is likely to wreak further havoc in the state as three districts were kept at high alert by the Indian Meteorological Hydromet Division of moderate to high flash flood risk over a few watersheds and neighborhoods of Shimla, Sirmaaur and Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh.

A special bulletin issued by the IMD hydro met division said that surface runoff or inundation(waterlogging) may occur at some fully saturated watersheds & low-lying areas due to expected persistent rainfall in the next 24 hours.

The alert was sounded at 1200 hrs today and it would be effective after 1300 hrs today onwards/. in the Weather forecast for the next two days, six districts including Kangra, Mandi, Shimla, Sirmaur, Bilaspur, and Solan are kept on orange alert while baring Kinnuaar rest of the district is on yellow alert. Six districts that are on the orange alert may have heavy to very heavy rainfall and in rest five falling on yellow alert may have moderate to heavy rainfall.
