IMD predicts rain and snow in 8 districts of Himachal in coming days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts rain and snow in eight districts of Himachal Pradesh today. During this period, while snow may fall on the mountains, there are chances of rain in many areas.

However, the weather will be clear again from tomorrow. According to the latest forecast issued by Meteorological Center Shimla, the weather will be bad today in the central and high-hilly areas of the state.

During this period, there are chances of rain and snowfall in many parts of Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti, Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur, Mandi, Kullu, and Chamba. However, from tomorrow till December 21, there will be sunshine across the state, which will provide relief to the people from the cold.

On the other hand, the minimum temperature of Kalpa, Bhuntar, Mandi, Solan, Reckong Peo, Chamba, and Una has been recorded between zero degrees Celsius to 4.2 degrees Celsius. If there is rain and snowfall in the state today, there is a possibility of a further drop in temperature.

 Keeping in view the continuously increasing cold in the last few days, the administration has issued an advisory. People have been asked to maintain the flow of heat in the body and consume nutritious food and hot beverages. Wear woolen and warm clothes in the cold. Keep the body dry. If clothes are wet, there may be a lack of heat. It has been asked to use heaters, kerosene, and coal fireplaces in the rooms, to ensure proper arrangement for exhausting the smoke.

In the advisory, it has been asked to keep your head covered, as heat can be lost through the head in the cold. Keep your mouth covered as well, this will protect your lungs from cold. He said that do not do hard work in low temperatures and should not do physical work beyond their capacity, as this can create a risk of heart attack.
