IMD forecasts 3 day wet weather spell from tomorrow onwards in Himachal

After a gap of four months dry weather in the state Indian Meteorological Department predicted wet weather conditions for next three days with effect from tomorrow.

In a special weather forecast IMD issued yellow alert in isolated places forecasting thunderstorms , lightening and heavy snowfall on Jan 31 to Feb 2. 

The state likely to have widespread rain and snowfall at most places in mid and high reaches and many places in foothills on January 31 to Feb 1, 2024. 

Ending for month long mainly dry weather conditions in the state rain or snowfall likely to occur at many places in high reaches tomorrow and few places in the midhills.

Another Western Disturbances would active  to continue wet weather conditions after February 3 onwards.

Issuing yellow alert from tomorrow onwards IMD said that Heavy snow likely to occur at isolated places on 31st Jan, 2024 in the districts of Chamba, Kullu, Mandi Lahul & Spiti and Kinnaur and on 01st Feb in the districts of Chamba, Kullu, Mandi Lahul & Spiti. 

The inclement weather or expected snowfall may disrupt essential services including water and electricity, communications and related services.

The  Visibility Conditions very likely to decrease and  advisories and guidelines are issued to all concerned department to take adequate safety measures.

Due to impact of inclement weather agriculture activities may be impacted as folks should keeping the livestock indoors due to low temperature, Make adequate arrangements for keeping them warm. 

In case of low temperature, make adequate arrangements for artificial lighting and heating for animals.  Since the temperature is expected to drop further, give winter packing to the bee colonies.

Advise to give the winter packing immediately to colonies and Give artificial food to honey bees as there is scarcity of flowers during these days.

According to Lahaul Spiti district administration the vehicular traffic was okay till this afternoon.

Minimum temperature of Kaza was minus ten degrees, Keylong minis seven Kukamseri minus 6.7, Kalpa minus 2.2 and Narkanda minus 0.4.

Minimum temperature of Manali and Solan 2.3 each, Mandi three,  Shimla and Una 3.5, Hamirpur  3.7, Dalhousie 3.8, Dharamshala, Bilaspur and Airport Jubberhati 5.4, and Kangra 6 and Nahan 7.
