IMD forecast fresh spell of rain & snow in Himachal

Cyclonic circulation and fresh western disturbances may bring Increment weather conditions from tomorrow onwards in the state as the Indian Meteorological Department forecasts fresh snowfall on high reaches and rain in a few places downstream.

IMD said that a cyclonic circulation is likely to advance to Northwest Himalayan states and fresh western disturbances likely to develop from tomorrow may cause light to moderate Snowfall at a few places in Kinnaur, Shimla, Kullu, Chamba, and Kangra districts in a few places.

Issuing yellow alerts in isolated places of Kangra, Chamba, Shimla, Kullu, Solan, Sirmaur, Una, Hamirpur, and Bilaspur and Kinnaur district IMD said in a weather bulletin issued today that a few places of mid and high reaches likely to have light to moderate spell of rain and isolated places in the foothills and plain.

Lightening thunderstorms and hailstorms may occur in isolated places in the mid and high reaches in the next 24 hours.

 Low visibility accompanied by fog and overcast sky may affect the movement of traffic on the bank of rivers and caution should be taken to drive in isolated places to avoid untoward mishaps during prevailing inclement and cold weather conditions.

The minimum temperature in the state was normal to slightly above normal as the minimum temperature of Tourist resort Kufri was five degrees, and Shimla was 7 degrees. Narkanda four degrees Solan 6.5, Manali, Mandi, Chamba and Dalhousie seven, Una eight, Airport Jubberhati, Dharmshala, Kangra ten, and Nahan 11 degrees.
