IIM Sirmaur organized Programme on “Leading to Innovate: Building a start-up ecosystem for Technical Institutions.”

Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur conducted a 5-day Management Development
Programme on “Leading to Innovate: Building a start-up ecosystem for technical
institutions”. The objective of the MDP is to interact with the stakeholders of our state and
create an innovation ecosystem in Himachal Pradesh. 
The programme was inaugurated by industry leader Dr. Ashok Goyal, Managing Director at
Tirupati Industries. Choosing a fitting metaphor, he stressed the importance of bringing
Goddesses Saraswati and Lakshmi together to create value through innovation. 
Program directors Prof. Mohita G Sharma and Prof. Shashi Kant Srivastava launched the
event with enthusiasm, spurring engaging conversations on the significance of innovation in a
state like Himachal Pradesh. Discussions were held on topics like disruptive technologies,
blockchain, AI, frugal innovation, digital transformation, innovative leadership, etc.
Delegates from the Directorate of Technical Education, Himachal Pradesh were in
attendance, including representatives from various engineering, polytechnic, and technical
backgrounds. This was our first attempt at interacting with stakeholders of our state.
The audience appreciated the efforts of the esteemed professors at IIM Sirmaur for
conducting such MDPs. Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur anticipates hosting
numerous similar events in the future.”
