IIM Sirmaur Felicitates War Heroes Wing Commander Raveesh Vashisht and Squadron Leader Ankita
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sirmaur was filled with pride and admiration as it
hosted a felicitation ceremony to honour Wing Commander Raveesh Vashisht, recently
awarded the Indian Air Force Mention-in-Despatches Presidential Award and Squadron
Leader Ankita, also an officer of the Indian Air Force.
The event brought together students, faculty, and staff to celebrate their exemplary service
and dedication to the nation. The atmosphere on campus was electric with respect and
curiosity as the officers shared their experiences and reflections on service, resilience, and
leadership.
Speaking at the ceremony, Wing Commander Vashisht recounted moments from his journey
that exemplified courage and teamwork, while Squadron Leader Ankita emphasized the
importance of perseverance, discipline, and unity in service to the country. Their words
deeply resonated with the IIM Sirmaur community, inspiring students to embody similar
values in their personal and professional pursuits.
Professor Prafulla Agnihotri, Director of IIM Sirmaur, felicitated the guests and remarked,
“We are deeply honoured to host Wing Commander Raveesh and Squadron Leader Ankita,
whose courage and service remind us that leadership is about commitment, integrity, and
selflessness. Their story will continue to inspire our students to lead with purpose.”
The ceremony concluded with an interactive session where students engaged with the officers
on themes of leadership under pressure, national duty, and resilience. The event stood as a
powerful reminder that the principles guiding the armed forces; service before self, courage,
and integrity; are equally vital for future business leaders.
Through this felicitation, IIM Sirmaur reaffirmed its respect for the nation’s armed forces and
its commitment to nurturing socially responsible leaders who embody dedication, resilience,
and service to society.
