IGMC may face a shortage of Jan Aushadhi soon:  Chemist Association warns

Shimla Chemist and Druggist Association warned the state government that the supply of essential medicines under Jan Aushadhi at IGMC Shimla may face a shortage soon.

In a press statement issued today President of Himachal Pradesh State Chemist and Druggist Association Sanjeev Pandit and General Secy Anul Jain said that Whole Sale Distributors of medicines of Shimla have not been paid by Jan Aushadhi IGMC Shimla for almost a year.

Earlier payments of the Jan Aushadhi hospital supply were made within 45-60 days. The outstanding amount of Whole Sellers is around several crores.

Due to non-payment of payments, sellers are facing a lot of difficulties in ordering goods from companies. They also cautioned that the negligent attitude of administration and government officials to settle pending bills may cause a lot of problems for patients due to the non-availability of medicines.

The matter was taken up with the hospital management several times but no positive response received so far. Hospital management is accusing the state government that the payment of Himcare and Ayushman has not been released. The association warns the government to solve the problems as soon so that medicines can be supplied for the Jan Aushadhi stock of hospitals on time.
