IGMC langar deadlock:CPIM stages demonstration
Local unit of CPI(M) staged a demonstration outside state’s premier Health Institution IGMC protesting against the government and administeration to handover public facilities and services to private parties in the hospital premises.State secretariat member of party Dr.Kuldeep Singh Tanwar, state committee member Vijender Mehra, district committee member Sonu Verma, Satyawan Pundir, along with hundreds of workers participated in the protest. Addressing the protesters, Dr Tanwar said that party believes that state should own the responsibility of the welfare state to provide basic facilities to the people.” The government is handing everything over to private hands, from the canteens inside the IGMC to all kinds of tests has been given in private hands” he alleged.” IGMC administration and the government have become mute spectators.” Party demands that all types of tests be done free of cost. No private company should be allowed in IGMC. ” IGMC administration should run the canteens. The way in which everything is being given in private hands for the benefit of few people,” it warned to not tolerate controversy and conspiracy being hatched to promote the individual in the place of public cause. The party believes that the manner in which the IGMC administration has declared the langar running there as illegal is wrong. Those who are calling the langar illegal, the same people have been seen distributing langar there. Therefore, there should first be an investigation by the IGMC administration, which had given permission to run this langar. The party believes that the administration should allow the langar to run smoothly there so that the needy attendants can get relief there. ” If any social organization wants to join or attached with IGMC to serve people all of them should be allowed without indiscrimination.” party added.
