I have ancestral ties with Dehra, I am also the son-in-law of Dehra: Sukhu

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu’s wife Kamlesh Thakur filed her nomination as a Congress candidate from Dehra assembly constituency on Friday. During this, Congress treasurer and former candidate Dr. Rajesh Sharma was also present. Addressing a huge public meeting, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that by-elections are going to be held in three assembly constituencies. The public should ask the former MLA of Dehra that under whose pressure did you resign and impose by-elections. I did everything for the former independent MLA. Dehra is now mine, my wife is contesting elections from here. Dehra will write a new history. This is just the beginning in Dehra, this is not the end. When the announcement was made to build a zoological park worth Rs 680 crore in Bankhandi of Dehra, at that time I did not think that I would have to contest elections from here. 2000 youth will get employment in this zoological park. He said that by organizing a program in Jwalamukhi on June 26, Rs 1500 along with arrears will be deposited in the accounts of 10,000 women and the women of Dehra will get their money after the election code of conduct.

The Chief Minister said that you elected independent MLA Hoshiar Singh from here twice. An independent can support any party, there is no compulsion on them but Dehra MLA Hoshiar Singh has sold himself in the political market of BJP. He came to me three-four months ago and started shouting loudly that I have a resort, give me a way through the forest land for it. Every time he came to me, he used to talk about money. Hoshiar used to say that he spends 15 crore rupees every month. He lies, if 15 crore rupees had been spent then people would not have to face many problems including transformer and electricity.

Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that Hoshiar Singh has bought BJP’s lotus and a bought lotus does not bloom. Hoshiar Singh will not be able to even look into the eyes, let alone get any work done. People had elected him for five years, why did he sell his MLA seat? When the public rises, it uproots big dictators. He said that SP office and SE PWD office in Dehra are just the beginning. Soon more schemes will be brought in the area. He said that if you send Kamlesh Thakur after making him win the election, the darkness of 25 years in Dehra will end. The Chief Minister said that the work of Central University was stopped for ten years, which he started after becoming the Chief Minister. He said that the state government is going to spend a lot of money on tourism in Pong Dam. He said that my powerhouse is the public. I have a relation with Dehra and I am the son-in-law of this place.

The Chief Minister said that Hoshiar Singh has been sold in the political market of BJP. One of his briefcases has arrived and the other is lying somewhere else. Therefore, he will use the influence of money in the elections. He said that he will distribute money, you can take the money because it is your own money, but vote for the Congress party.

Congress candidate Kamlesh Thakur said that by making her the candidate from Dehra, the Congress party has put a huge responsibility on her shoulders and she is hopeful that the people of the area will make the ‘Dehra ki beti’ successful by blessing her. Kamlesh Thakur said, “Now a daughter has come to her maternal home. It is the tradition of Kangra, Hamirpur that a daughter is not sent back empty-handed. So you must bless her all. Think of her as a sister and a daughter to strengthen her hands. You must bless her.”

The Congress candidate said that my childhood was spent here. The way Dehra was in my childhood, Dehra is the same even today. Nothing has changed. The development that has happened has happened only in Congress governments. She said that for many years we have been hearing that Dehra is not yours. But I say that I am of Dehra and Dehra is mine. I will serve Dehra with all my heart and soul. You took care of one Dhyan and Dhyan will take complete care of Dehra.

Kamlesh Thakur said that no daughter feels like going back from her parents’ home. Now Dehra needs change, needs development. She said that when the Ganga of development is flowing in the entire state under the Congress government, why should Dehra stay behind. You go with the Congress and Dehra will not be left behind. I make this promise to you. The beginning has already been made. She said that SP will sit in Dehra. SE PWD will sit and people’s work will be done here. Congress government will make plans for the development of Dehra and will ensure development here. This is my promise.

Kamlesh Thakur said, I hope you will support the Congress party and your focus. She said that she will continuously talk to the Chief Minister to solve the problems of Dehra and after winning the election, she will be able to solve the problems of the people of the area by staying in Dehra itself.

At the end of her speech, Kamlesh Thakur also raised slogans in support of the Congress party and its top leaders. She said that she is a cultured daughter of Dehra and hence she will not take her husband’s name from the stage, to which the workers applauded loudly.
