HPSEB to discontinue power supply of 376 consumers

As Many as 376 consumers of different categories falling under Electricity Sub-Division Chamba have been ordered to cut off power supply temporarily due to non-payment of electricity bills on time.  A total sum of Rs 22,22,634 is to be recovered from these consumers. The department had already issued a notice to the defaulting consumers on April 5 and appealed to deposit the bill within 15 days.  Therefore, due to non-payment of electricity bills by a total of 376 consumers, the department has to issue orders to cut off their power supply temporarily.  After temporary power cut, along with the amount of electricity bill, an additional fee of Rs.250.00 would be paid.  If no one pays the bill even after temporarily disconnecting the connection, then the department will issue an order to cut off the power connection permanently after a certain limit and after the permanent disconnection, the electricity consumer will have to pay the outstanding amount of the first meter.  After making the payment, consumers would have to apply online for a fresh power connection and for this an additional fee of about four to five thousand rupees would  be paid.
