Rajiv Gandhi will always be remembered for many works like women empowerment, 50 percent reservation for women in Panchayati Raj institutions, right to vote for 18-year-old youth.
All India Congress Committee Secretary and Co-in-charge of State Affairs Vidit Chaudhary said that Rajiv Gandhi’s idea of ​​strengthening Panchayati Raj institutions and their development plan was born in Himachal Pradesh itself, when he met the people here during his tour of the state. He said that he has made a major contribution to women empowerment. He said that Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and now Priyanka Gandhi are also raising the slogan of Rajiv Gandhi’s dream of 50 percent reservation for half the population of the country, full rights, women power in any election. He said that Rajiv Gandhi was the source of inspiration for the Congress party and will always remain so. Vidit Chaudhary accused the BJP of vote theft and said that Rahul Gandhi has exposed the BJP’s conspiracy in the elections with facts. He said that the BJP can do anything to turn the election results in its favour. He said that the impartiality of the Election Commission has also come under doubt.
Vidit Chaudhary said that Congress is intensifying the campaign of ‘Vote Chor, Kursi Chhod’ in the country. Himachal Pradesh Mahila Congress paid tribute to late Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary. After that, Congress Party President Pratibha Singh started the program being run by Mahila Congress under “Nari Swasthya Sankalp” to provide health security, hygiene and economic empowerment to the women of the country. In this, a pledge has been taken to provide sanitary napkins to one lakh women every year in the country. To empower women economically, they are also being given training to make sanitary napkins across the country.
It is also being started soon in Himachal Pradesh. The aim of Mahila Congress is to provide economic empowerment, cleanliness and health security to women. This will greatly benefit poor women. Today Mahila Congress distributed sanitary napkins and fruits to needy women.
