HP Govt dismiss Sr Judge on the corruption charges

State Government today dismissed a senior Civil Judge  from the judicial services on the recommendation of Himahcal Pradesh high court after he was probed for a corruption charge.
Spokesperson of State law department said that Mr Gaurav Sharma resident of Amritsar of Punjba was addressed in charge of Rs 40,000 from a businessman in lieu of settling a matter of  cheque bounce when the accused judge was Additional chief judicial magistrate of Sundernagar in Mandi district in 2007.
The judge was was arrested by the team of officials form state vigilance and anti corruption bureau and placed under suspensions. The victim of the crime was gave tip off to the SV&ACB which laid trap on him. A case was lodged under Prevention of Corruption Act under sec7 and 13(2) registered against  him.
State home department issued a notification on Nov 25 about the dismissal of Civil Judge cum ACJM (under suspension ) under rule of 1 of Central Civil Services Control Rules 1965 and stating that inquiry against the accused was conducted by the Himachal Pradesh High court.
The Secretary home Mr Rajneesh stated in the notification that after probing the charges by Himachal Pradesh High court and on the recommendation they have order the dismissal of judge from the service.
The Governor of Himachal also approved the notification considering the recommendation of Himachal Pradesh HC exercising the power vested in hum under Clauses (IX)  of Rule 11 of the CCS(CCA) Rules 1965. with immediate effect .
