Hindi week celebration organized at CSIR-IHBT

The main function of Hindi week was celebrated with great gaiety on 14th September 2022 at CSIR-Himalayan Institute of Bioresource Technology, Palampur. Chief guest of the function Prof. Anil Kumar Tripathi, Director, Institute of Science and Acharya, Banaras Hindu University, Banaras delivered his lecture on the topic ‘A future-oriented review of the development journey of science’. Sharing his administrative and academic experience, he called for spreading new technologies in Hindi, the official language. He thanked the scientists and research students for connecting with the farmers through Hindi medium. In his address, he described the evolutionary journey of science with great interest. He asked to focus on further research in the interest of the society by keeping the achievements of science and its ill-effects in front. At the same time, it is suggested to adapt the research currently being done in Artificial Intelligence to the conditions of India.

On this occasion, the director of the institute, Dr. Sanjay Kumar in his presidential address said that it is necessary to have mother tongue to express the feelings. He also stressed on merit based assessment and its utilization in the interest of society. He explained the importance of utility of basic knowledge of a subject to empower the society. Dr. Sanjay exhorted the scientists to disseminate the technologies developed by the institute in simple language to make them accessible to their users.

On this occasion the winners of competitions organized under Hindi week were also awarded.

Dr. Vipin Hallan, Senior Principal Scientist of the Institute introduced the Chief Guest and Finance and Accounts Officer Mr. Yashpal thanked him. The program was conducted by Hindi officer Mr. Sanjay Kumar.
