Himachal Shines with Victory: Bags Overall Trophy in National Karate Championship

Himachal Pradesh has emerged victorious by clinching the overall trophy at the National Karate Games held at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula. The state’s players showcased exceptional talent, securing a total of 29 medals, including a remarkable 22 gold, 6 silver, and 1 bronze.

The team, representing the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, competed across sub-junior, cadet, junior, and senior categories, delivering stellar performances that brought glory to the state.

Medal Winners: A Proud Moment for Himachal

In the girls’ category, gold medals were secured by Muskan, Isha Thakur, Kaushvi Karol, Avni, Advika, Aradhya, Aradhya Sethi, Tamanna Thakur, Tania Sharma, Arhit Kaur, and Arshpreet Kaur. The silver medalists included Arshiya Aastha, Nivriti, Pawan Kaur, Himanshi Joshi, and Amita Chauhan, while Mehak added another silver to the tally.

In the boys’ category, the gold medalists were Vedantasar, Kartik Rana, Ridham Mehta, Moksh Chauhan, Sahil Kumar, Ojas Chhatra, Kartik Thakur, Sudhanshu Kumar, Purav Kaushal, and Harshit Bodh. Silver medals were won by Sujal Chattu and Aman Chauhan.

Team’s Stellar Performance

Ajay Thakur, the team coach, expressed pride in the team’s outstanding achievements, emphasizing their dominance in the competition. This victory not only highlights the talent of Himachal’s athletes but also cements the state’s reputation as a powerhouse in the sport.
