Himachal received 325 percent unprecedented rainfall in the last 7 days: IMD

Himachal Pradesh received a record 325 percent records rainfall and Mercury plummet to an all-time low in the last seven days.

IMD officials said that western disturbance and yellow alert caused recorded rainfall from May 24 to 30 as during the period Sirmaur district had 877 percent more rain, Similar to 797 pc excess rainfall in Solan

and 491% in Hamirpur and Solan received 243 percent rainfall.

The Meteorological Department told us that rain and coldwave in the month of May had broken all the previous records. In seven days May 24th to 30th, there has been 325 pc more rain than normal. Similarly, from May 1 to 30, the state had 84 percent more rain than normal. 

IMD said that earlier to this state never had much rain in the previous years in the month of May which is due to back-to-back WDs.

IMD has issued an orange alert for today and a yellow alert for the next three days. There is no possibility of getting relief from the rain in the mountains for the next five days. 

A warning of hailstorms and thunderstorms with a speed of 30 to 40 km was issued in the state today.

 It has been raining in many areas of the state since last night, while in Shimla it is raining well since morning.

 Due to this, there is a continuous drop in temperature. People started getting cold in high areas In the higher areas, people have now been forced to burn bonfires

to avoid the cold like winter. 

The minimum temperature of Keylong has dropped to the lowest of 4.8 degrees, Kalpa 7.8 degrees, Shimla 13.5 degrees, Kukumasiri 7.5 degrees, Bharmour 10 degrees, and Narkanda 9 degrees. 

Renuka in Siramaur had 55 mm rain, Jhandutta in Bilaspur -40 mm Jatton Barrage-34 mm, Rajgarh 22 mm, Solan-21 mm, Dalhousie & Kandaghat-20 mm each, Khadrala & Rohru.
