Himachal Pradesh to Host ‘Samarth-2024’ Disaster Awareness Campaign in October

The Himachal Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (HPSDMA) is set to launch its flagship mass awareness campaign, ‘Samarth-2024’, in October 2024. As part of this initiative, a range of events and activities will take place across the state, including a 3-day Exhibition showcasing equipment, technologies, and products related to disaster preparedness and response. This exhibition will be held at the Padam Dev Complex, The Ridge, Shimla, from 13th to 15th October 2024.

A planning meeting for the campaign was held on 25th September 2024 at the Armsdale Building, HP Secretariat, chaired by Sh. D.C. Rana (IAS), Director cum Ex Officio Special Secretary (Rev. DM) to the Government of Himachal Pradesh. The meeting focused on coordinating and organizing the various events for ‘Samarth-2024’ at the state level. Attendees included officers from the Health Services Department, HP Home Guards & Civil Defence, DDMA Shimla, SDRF, NDRF, Information and Public Relations Department, Municipal Corporation Shimla, the Chief Fire Officer, and the HP State Red Cross Society.
